Inspired by the beauty of the coastline and experiences at sea, Harley of Scotland was established in 1929. Drawing from the centuries-long knitwear tradition of fisher-folk from Shetland to Fife, where volatile conditions of working in the North Sea gave rise to the production of knitwear for

comfort and warmth (and whereby a sweater’s unique pattern also served as a means of identification).

Harley of Scotland's Fair Isle knitwear carries the torch of the North Sea heritage with its eclectic blends of fibres, textures and patterns, blending traditional techniques with modern technology –  the perfect balance between old and new!
